I didnt even have to buy the splitter it came with tv cable box self install package. Wall port> splitter > one cable to cable box and other cable to modem Tv/internet run over the same cable simultaneously. And one port is all you need (technically) if comcast claims that your building has broadband access. Your landlord should be paying to fix/replace the bad line not you. I can see plenty of other ones with from different routers that have stronger signal but Windows 10 is selecting the one with the weakest signal.

Installed Netgear WiFi Analytic's and while connected to the Xifinity thru my PC it is connecting to the one with the weakest signal -83dbm and when it is connected to that it keeps channel hoping every 20 seconds or so. Is there a way with WIndows 10 i can pick which specific one to log into, this only happens with windows 10, when i connect with my phone i don't loose the connection. I'm not sure if this is because it's connecting to a router that is further away with a weaker signal or if there is so much traffic on the channel its connecting to it drops it. 99.999999% of the time when i log in my connection holds for 5-7 mins before it drops out. What happens is there are soo many comcast routers in my building that all are pushing out that public signal. I don't have a modem in my unit that i can put a Ethernet cable into because i don't want to dish out the $250 they want to charge me to run a cable line to my unit. I live in an apartment complex and comcast is my only high speed ISP option, I've been using my account with them to connect to their Xfinitywifi which is the hot spot one.
